John Abrassart - Consultant/Systems Analyst
The team knows me as the firm's system and software champion. I work hand-in-hand with Tom and the staff to continue to develop and perfect an innovative platform of integrated desktop, web, and mobile services that ensure continued excellent service to our clients. I also works collaboratively with all members of the firm to define and document firm practices and procedures and provides regular training to both staff and clients. My favorite part of working with LongwoodCPA is the opportunity it gives me to have time with my brother on a nearly daily basis.
I love to cook, could easily spend all of my time doing genealogical research, don't know how many innings are in a football game, am absolutely lethal to anything from the plant kingdom, and loves spending time with family. I have two sons and two grandchildren. My first personal computer was a RadioShack TRS-80 Model I and (shiver) I still have my DOS 5 manual. One of my fondest memories from this period (1980s) was watching my five-year-old son show his Phi Beta Kappa mother how to deal with a cranky word processor.
I earned a B.A .in Sociology and Psychology from Gettysburg College and an M.S. in Computer Science from Polytechnic Institute of NYU. I began actively consulting with LongwoodCPA in 2009 after 35 years in the real estate development and construction industries. At various times in my career, I have been a civil engineer, a transportation planner, a project manager, an IT consultant, a cost accountant, a corporate purchasing agent, and an ERP manager in premier firms with national or regional practices of elite clientele.
